2023 Lock Out Cancer Campaign Breaks Record
The Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation’s sixth annual Lock Out Cancer campaign raises $175,000 in support of local cancer care.
WINDSOR, ON – The Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation’s annual Lock Out Cancer campaign held each May, raises funds to support cancer awareness, research, and treatment for patients in our community. This year’s Lock Out Cancer Campaign was its most successful, raising a total of $175,000 in support of local cancer care.
“Every dollar raised by the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation directly supports local cancer patients,” said Houida Kassem, Executive Director of the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation. “We are so grateful for our generous sponsors, passionate Ambassadors and incredible campaign donors. As one of two signature campaigns held annually – we are so pleased with this year’s Lock Out Cancer campaign and our community’s response.”
Funds raised support initiatives that reduce wait times, provide comfort, and keep patients close to home while receiving treatment.
Lock Out Cancer included initiatives like Loonies for Lock Out, Signature Lock and Key jewelry sales, and the overwhelming community support for this year’s Lock Out Cancer Ambassadors (pictured below left to right): Tina Roy, Paula DeVito, Dr. Sindu Kanjeekal, Pam Brajak Mady, and Kathleen Turner.
“I’m so honoured to have been part of this year’s Lock Out Cancer campaign”, shared Pam Brajak Mady, 2023 Lock Out Cancer Ambassador. “Procedures I received 12 years ago were unavailable locally at the time. Thanks to this campaign and the generosity of our community, patients now receive these treatments here at home, close to family and friends.”
