Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation Kicks Off 3rd Annual Show Us Your Brave Campaign
Windsor ON – The Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation is proud to launch its annual Show Us Your Brave campaign, inviting individuals and businesses across Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, and Sarnia-Lambton to step outside their comfort zones and take on a personal challenge in support of local cancer patients.
Show Us Your Brave is more than just a fundraiser — it’s an opportunity for our community to come together, face fears, try something new, and support individuals in our community who will hear the words “you have cancer.” Participants are encouraged to choose a challenge that pushes them beyond their comfort zone while fundraising for critical cancer care needs close to home. Funds raised through the campaign will support priority needs at the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, including advancements in equipment, patient comfort initiatives, and programs that enhance the overall patient experience.
Today at Thyme Kitchen in Windsor, approximately 80 people were in attendance for the official kickoff of this year’s campaign. The fundraising goal for Show Us Your Brave this year is $400,000.
Houida Kassem, Executive Director of the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation, emphasized the importance of community involvement in this year’s campaign. “This campaign is a powerful example of how our community comes together to drive meaningful impact, enhancing the exceptional care already provided close to home.” said Kassem.
A signature moment of the campaign is Brave Day — our rappel event, where participants descend 170 feet down the CIBC Building in downtown Windsor in an unforgettable demonstration of bravery and support for individuals in our community facing cancer. Businesses, community groups, and individuals are encouraged to get involved by registering, fundraising, and showing what it means to be brave. Brave Day takes place on May 23rd, space is limited, so make sure to check out Show Us Your Brave on our website to secure your spot!
