A Message From The Organizers
I wanted to take a minute to personally thank you for joining our crew in support of The Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation’s Grow On Windsor campaign, where funds raised will support vital equipment that can be used by all who have been diagnosed with cancer. EVERY dollar we raise will stay right here in Windsor/Essex County.
The event is quickly approaching and I wanted to make sure you have all of the basic information you need so you can prepare accordingly. Our team will get you more specifics one day prior to the race, and the captains will also receive even further direction.
Participant Information
EVENT DAY DETAILS. On December 4th at the WFCU Centre, registration desk opens at 10:30am. Enter through Gate 1 doors. Most funds are collected online, but this is where you can bring in cash and/or cheques to count toward your team’s total as well. The race begins at noon (go check on www.crewsnbrews.com for information about the race). Please bring clean shoes, a refillable water bottle, and a sweat towel if you need it. If you’ve made posters to tape to the wall, get there early to decorate your space!
The Windsor Spitfires, who donated the use of their facility, will be bringing in some pizza, but I recommend bringing in snacks to help power you through the long race. Our sponsor, HQ Nutrition, will have a hydration centre set up to keep everyone fueled up, but make sure you have a lot of water with you. Each team will have a pretty tight space as their race centre, but feel free to tape up a flag or anything that tells others who you are and/or why you are rowing. A fun Spirit Zone will be set up for anyone wanting to make signs for their area letting us all know who you’re rowing for. Bring tape!
AWESOME PRIZES TO BE WON! Scoring will be based on a combination of funds raised and metres rowed (and spirit points awarded!). Will you be crowned 2022 Crews & Brews Champions?! Remember, some teams are here to win it, and some to have fun and finish, but we are all here to raise awareness and raise funds while showing the many survivors and Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation warriors that the fitness industry has their backs.

SPECTATORS ARE WELCOME! With your donation at the door, you’ll have the opportunity to walk around and witness all the powerful moments of Crews N Brews, The Final Pull. You’re also likely to bump into Bomber, Ace and Spike, the mascots from the Windsor Spitfires. Bring your kids, and head over to the spirit zone and make signs in support of your favourite rowing team. We will have GL Heritage Brewing Co. beer available for purchase, a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction for tickets to several sporting events; including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons! SPIRIT METRES AWARDED. The team with the most spectators and community support will be awarded Spirit Metres, which could be the deciding factor when the distance and dollars are tallied at the end of the event! We will be taking donations right up to the end of the race, so please help us spread the word on social media by tagging your home gym, The Garage Gym, GL Heritage Brewing Co and The Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.
