GROW ON WINDSOR SURPASSES FUNDRAISING GOAL

Windsor, ON/ January 9, 2018

In the month of November 2017, residents of Windsor/Essex stepped up to the plate for a third year in a row and raised over $201,000 for Grow On Windsor. This local campaign is a month-long pledge based initiative in support of cancer awareness, research and treatment for men living in Windsor/Essex.

We kicked off our 2017 campaign with last year’s top fundraiser, Tony Rosati and our second-place fundraiser Brian Schwab of Cypher Systems Group, challenging a group of local businesses to join the movement and pledge to raise the much-needed funds. These local warriors included, Mike Brain from Dominion Lending Centres, Joe Bondy from RBC, Rhys Trenhaile from Manor Real Estate and John Skelton from Provincial Chrysler.

Along with thousands of participants and funds raised, an unexpected but very much appreciated “under dog” came in in the form of a Row A Thon held by the Garage Gym and G.L. Heritage Brewing Co., together they “rowed” in over $40,000 for the cause!

“I’d like to think each and every person who participated in Grow On as Warriors for the cause. Without their dedication and commitment to Grow On, we would not be able to raise the funds we have to date for men living with cancer in our community. Windsor/Essex never disappoints with their generosity”, says Houida Kassem, Executive Director of the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.

Thank you Windsor/Essex for helping us keep it local! Keep your eyes open, razors handy and wallets ready for this year’s 2018 campaign!
