Rita Rampure Carries On Her Husband’s Legacy With Generous Donation
Windsor ON – Rita Rampure has made an $89,000 donation to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation in the name of her late husband, Dr. Jaideep Rampure. Dr. Rampure passed in 2022, and Rita along with her sons Suraj and Chirag, wanted to give back to the Windsor Regional Cancer Program as a show of gratitude for the incredible care they received while he was in cancer treatment.
Rita knew she wanted her donation to have an immediate impact on patients receiving treatment at the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre. Rita learned that the Windsor Regional Cancer Program was looking for support in order to purchase new beds for the chemotherapy (systemic) suite. Rita offered to make a donation to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation to purchase one of these beds, knowing it would be of benefit not only to patients, but also the caregivers that work in the chemotherapy (systemic) suite.
Rita arranged her donation through Houida Kassem, Executive Director of the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation, and the two bonded over the conversations of how this new bed would be incredibly beneficial to the Windsor Regional Cancer Program for patients as well as staff.
After a few days, Rita called Houida back. Rita said to Houida, ‘Knowing that there’s a need for five new beds, I decided I cannot leave out other four. So I want to make a donation in memory of my loving husband, Dr. Jaideep Rampure, for the total amount to cover all five beds.’
“From the first time I spoke with Rita Rampure, it was clear how much she loved her husband, and how much she appreciated the care he received at the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre. It was a beautiful opportunity to to know that we could connect the full amount of her donation to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation to an immediate need within the Centre.” Said Houida Kassem, Executive Director of the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.
Jonathan Foster, Regional Vice President of Cancer Services, said the legacy of Dr. Jaideep Rampure will have a profound impact on patients, “When our patients know that someone locally is investing in their care, it gives them reassurance that our entire community is supporting their journey through treatment.”
